Moments before his February 26, 2013, death at 27th Street and Arthur Avenue Anibal Perez, M/22, walked into Vizcaya Liquor Store at 25th and Sherman streets, about 3 blocks from where he would be killed. In the video there are apparently two men watching Perez, wearing a baseball cap. Both are initially in what appears to be a dark colored Dodge Charger. One of the men, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, gets out of the Charger and follows Perez into the store. When Perez leaves the store and gets back in his car, the man who followed him gets into another vehicle, believed to be a Ford Edge, and both vehicles follow with their headlights off.
These men are considered persons of interest. A $1,000 reward is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Perez’s killing. The reward money is being administered by the Citizens Crime Commission and anonymous tipsters will be eligible to receive the reward if they call through that organization’s tip line at 215-546-TIPS.
