Administrative Services

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All matters pertaining to human resources, personnel, budget, site maintenance, fleet management, clerical and support services and a host of other support duties are handled by the Administrative unit.

The unit prepares the office's annual budget and submits it to the Camden County Freeholders for approval. All purchasing an other expenses for the Prosecutor's Office are vetted by the Administrative Services office as well. The unit has a dual mission. It is tasked with providing the resources and support needed to successfully investigate and prosecute crime, while also being mindful that it is the custodian of taxpayer money. The unit seeks to serve the law enforcement needs of the county while operating in an efficient manner. The unit oversees the office budget.

The office's financial resources do not come exclusively from county funds. The Administrative Services unit also administers federal and state grant money and is responsible for the distribution of forfeiture money recovered through criminal investigations. These grants must be applied for annually, and staff from Administrative Services prepares applications and manages the distribution of grant money.

Prosecutor's Office facilities exist in four buildings in the city of Camden, and the unit maintains the buildings and grounds at all of these sites. That includes the considerable task of maintaining an electronic case management network that is interactive with county and state criminal records databases. The office's Information Technology personnel keep that network functional, and work with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that the prosecutor's office staff has access to the most current records and intelligence available to law enforcement.

All personnel matters, including information relating to benefits and pensions, are addressed by the Administrative Services unit.
